The Climate Change Bill is now expected to have its first reading in October.
The legislation, designed to help the Isle of Man reach net carbon zero by 2050, was originally due before the House of Keys in June.
However, the coronavirus outbreak has resulted in delays, meaning it's been held over until the new parliamentary year.
An update on progress on work to reduce carbon emissions will be laid before Tynwald at this month's sitting.
