Coalition hopes for amendments to current measure
A bill designed to mitigate the Island's contribution to climate change is too weak, government is being told.
As the Climate Change Bill goes through its clauses stage in the House of Keys, Peter Christian of the Manx Friends of The Earth, says there is a real need to give it some teeth.
He says he hopes MHKs, and later on MLCs, will join forces around what he terms vital amendments.
Alice Quayle, of the Isle of Man Climate Coalition, compares the current proposals to using a bucket rather than a fire engine when a house is on fire.
