Meeting arranged for Caine to 'better understand' policy change
The chair of the Climate Change Transformation Board says she’s 'intrigued' by Douglas Council’s decision to move to fortnightly waste collection.
Daphne Caine has told Manx Radio she’s arranged a meeting with the authority to 'better understand' the change in policy.
The council claims collecting domestic waste every two weeks will encourage people to recycle more but the change has attracted much criticism from residents.
The Mayor of Douglas has called a public requisition meeting for Monday, 12 December where people will be able to air their concerns on waste in Douglas.
