Medical Staff Committee says Cope's departure should lead to clinician-led system
Medical staff at Noble’s Hospital say the departure of Manx Care’s chief executive should mark a ‘necessary turning point’ for healthcare governance on the Island.
The Medical Staff Committee has thanked Teresa Cope for her work over the past five years and wished her well for the future.
She announced her resignation earlier this week. You can find out more HERE.
In a statement provided to Manx Radio the committee said: "As we look ahead this transition must mark a necessary turning point for healthcare governance on the Isle of Man.
"We urgently need a new board led by clinicians working for Manx Care unified by a renewed, local spirit.
"The Medical Staff Committee remains committed to working constructively toward a transparent, locally accountable, and medically led healthcare system."
