Coastal overtopping and harbour flooding
There is concern about coastal flooding around the high tide just before midnight later today.
An amber weather warning has been issued by Ronaldsway Met Office.
The high spring tide coincides with the strongest forecast winds from Storm Eleanor and is likely to lead to the sea water level rising above the height of some inner harbour walls and quaysides for a time.
Parts of Ramsey (especially Mezeron Corner), The Tongue in Douglas harbour and Castletown will be affected but this should fall into the slight to moderate category.
Very large waves are expected to cause significant coastal overtopping in the south of the island and Peel (especially Fenella Beach).
The Ronaldsway Met Office says gusts of 60 to 70 mph are possible this evening, with a small risk of 80 mph around midnight.
