Port Erin Coastguard were called out yesterday evening to search for a person reported as missing somewhere around Cregneash.
They scoured the area, along with the police, and found a man who had fallen off the cliff face on the seaward side of the Chasms.
He had been there for some time.
Three 'cliff technicians' went down and managed to get him on a stretcher, before carefully winching him up.
The man was then transferred to Noble's Hospital.
The rescue was completed by 12.30am today, some five-and-a-half hours after the Coastguard were called out.
