Teams called out at 11:30pm
Douglas Coastguard was called out late last night after a young person became stuck at the bottom of cliffs near Port Jack, Onchan.
By talking to the youth over the phone, the Marine Operations Centre was able to get him to shine the light on his phone screen to show his exact location.
Meanwhile, the security cameras from Douglas harbour were able to zoom in to give the responders a clear position to set up before lowering an officer down to recover him.
The coastguard says the young man was checked over to make sure they were okay, and has thanked the Marine Operations Centre for helping locate the casualty in the thick gorse on the cliffside.
