Cody's Piano installed at Sea Terminal

Instrument to be officially launched this weekend

The family of a bright musical talent have succeeded in their mission to get a public piano installed in Douglas in his memory.

Cody Atzori died suddenly two years ago, aged just 17.

Last year, his family released an album of his original music, entitled 'Whispicity'.

Now, with the help of charity SoundCheck Isle of Man, they've installed a public piano in his memory at the Sea Terminal.

They say Cody loved to play on public pianos, and his dearest wish was for one to be available for all on the Isle of Man.

Earlier this year, we caught up with Cody's artist brother Teo, who painted the instrument in vibrant colours.

Since then, the family and the SoundCheck team have worked with Department of Infrastructure’s Public Estates and Housing team to accommodate and help install the instrument at the port.

The piano will be officially unveiled this Saturday (2 December) at 11:30am, and the family hope as many people as possible can attend the launch.

Cody's sister Hebe designed special wall art to give the piano a stunning backdrop:
