Followed row with boyfriend's brother
A row with her boyfriend’s brother has ended in a court appearance for a Colby woman.
Thirty-year-old Hayley Martha Bainton, of Glen Road, appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
She pleaded guilty to a single charge of being drunk in charge of a vehicle on 7 February.
Prosecution advocate Rachel Braidwood told the court a member of the public rang police at around 1.30 am after seeing her in her parked car near Willow Close in Peel.
When officers arrived they found Bainton’s black Mini Cooper with its interior lights on, doors open and its engine warm.
They arrested Bainton, who was unsteady on her feet, and took her to Police Headquarters.
There testing equipment showed she was more than twice the legal limit.
She was fined £1,000, ordered to pay £125 towards prosecution costs and magistrates also put 10 points on her licence.
