A nationwide appeal by the Disasters Emergency Aid Committee to ease the suffering of civilians in Gaza will take place around the Isle of Man this weekend.
Although a ceasefire is currently in place in the region, the DEC says the humanitarian situation in Gaza is at crisis point.
It estimates up to 1.5 million people in Gaza have no or very limited access to sanitation and more than 200,000 urgently need food aid.
The DEC appeal has already raised £7 million in the UK which is being used to provide food, water and mobile medical care.
The humanitarian appeal in the Island is being co-ordinated by the One World Centre and volunteers will be collecting in the centre of Douglas, Peel, Castletown and Port Erin today (Sat 16 August) and in Douglas tomorrow (Sun 17).
More volunteer collectors are needed, if you can help contact Rosemary Clarke on 800464 or email info@owciom.org.
