Chamber of Commerce 'stands ready' to work with new administration
The Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce hopes the new Council of Ministers will now 'turn ambition into measurable action'.
Chris Thomas named the eight members of his CoMin this week.
The chamber's praised Mr Thomas for listening to the business community, and welcomes the clear emphasis on entrepreneurial thinking and a stronger understanding of the economy.
However, it says this is an important starting point when turning intent into action, but that it's important the new government acts quickly.
It's reiterating its calls for proportionate regulation, faster decisions, and a clear, compelling proposition for the Isle of Man.
Chamber president, Claire Watterson, says: "This election has reinforced an important point: economic growth is not the responsibility of one department alone. Every department has a role to play in creating the conditions for a stronger, more competitive and sustainable economy.
"Chamber stands ready to work constructively with the new administration to help deliver the pace, focus and practical action that businesses and our Island’s future prosperity require."
