SS Dundalk torpedoed in October 1918
The Mannanan fast craft will be diverted slightly on her crossing from Ireland today (Tues 26th)
It's to enable a brief service to take place, commemorating a ship sunk a hundred years ago.
The SS Dundalk was torpedoed on October 14th 1918, just weeks before the end of the First World War. Survivors were picked by the Manx vessel, the SS Douglas.
Wreaths will be thrown onto the water today by relatives of those who were on board at the time.
Marie Agnew, who has helped organise the event, says life had to continue as usual despite the ever present threat from submarines.
