Calls for chief minister to withdraw 'unacceptable' remarks failed to gain support
The chair of a committee that called for the chief minister to withdraw remarks accusing the former health minister of fabrication and gaslighting says he's concerned Tynwald has accepted a 'lower standard of debate'.
The Tynwald Standards and Members' Interests Committee found Alfred Cannan's comments about Lawrie Hooper in October last year were unacceptable.
The committee's recommendations failed to gain support in the Island's parliament earlier this week.
