Manx Telecom to distribute guide via post office
Concerns have been raised about the impact of the shutdown of the Island's copper telecom network on carephone users.
Manx Telecom says the switch-off will begin next year; it's hoping to complete the roll-out of the fibre optic system by 2029.

In response MT says: "[Manx Telecom] will be distributing a guide to all residents via the post office, week commencing 6 January 2025, which explains the copper switch-off - this should reach those who don't use social media / internet.
"It’s a long programme and we plan to work with third sector organisations. We contacted third sector organisations [this week] with the press release and attached guide.
"All communication’s distributed this week were from Manx Telecom Networks (wholesale arm for Manx Telecom) in cases like the (one highlighted) the care home service provider (MT Retail, Sure) will work with the organisation on a solution to ensure they don't lose connection."
