Event hosted in connection with FWAG
People are being encouraged to ‘connect with nature’ and take a guided tour of an award-winning farm.
Ballafayle Farm in Maughold is holding an open day today (1 September).
The tour, led by farmer Anna Kerruish and her team, will showcase diverse sheep breeds and their conservation efforts.
Earlier this year Anna received the FWAG Isle of Man Bronze Chough Award for her conservation work and community engagement.
Paul Fletcher, from the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature and learn about Anna’s inspiring farming life.
"You’ll also experience amazing views and discover a wide range of bird and plant life, especially in unique habitats."
The tour starts at 1pm and will end with a slow-cooked lamb bap tasting to coincide with ‘Love Lamb Week’.
Attendees are asked to arrive by 12.45pm for the 1pm start.
All are welcome, but the farm needs to know numbers of those wishing to attend for transport and catering logistics purposes - message/phone Hilary Fletcher on 422486 or email fwagiom@outlook.com
There is no charge for the visit, but the team invite donations to go to LAM Action and the IOM Agricultural Benevolent Trust.
