New vessel to replace Ben my Chree in 2023
Construction has started on the Island's new flagship ferry.
Work is underway in South Korea on the Manxman, which is due to replace the Ben-my-Chree in 2023.
The vessel will be able to carry 949 passengers and have additional space for freight and vehicles.
Officials from the Steam Packet Company were at the milestone event - known as the steel cutting ceremony - in Ulsan today, where a formal pushing of the button took place to mark the first piece of steel being cut.
