Government food and drinks boss says competition is healthy
Competition amongst local businesses allows the consumer to stay in control.
That's the view of Food Business Development Manager Andrew Lees.
This year has seen a number of new start-ups in the food and drink industry, including brewery Hooded Ram opening up its first pub.
Mr Lees is heading a strategy aiming to grow the value of the sector by £50 million by 2025.
He says a competitive industry keeps firms on their toes:
