'Quintin' must be kept under proper control from now on
A woman from West Baldwin has been ordered to keep her dog under control after it bit a policeman.
Alicia Patricia Bettridge, of Eairy Veg, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where she admitted not doing so on 5 October last year.
The court heard that an officer had visited the 62-year-old at her home in September last year to address concerns over ‘Quintin’.
But on a return visit, on 5 October, the brown and white corgi – which was ‘roaming freely’ on the driveway at the time – bit the officer on the calf.
Bettridge’s advocate told the court his client was ‘deeply distressed’ about the ‘deeply regrettable incident’ adding: “She has worried about this for quite some months.”
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes imposed a control order and ordered her to pay prosecution costs of £50.
