Dollin Mercer receives first Londeyr
A new award was made at the Cooish Manx language festival last night (Sat 18th)
The Jeebin committee gave the Londeyr, or "lantern" award, to someone seen as making new efforts to increase the use of the Manx language on a daily basis.
Dollin Mercer, from Manx Radio news, was awarded for bringing in more Manx during news bulletins and programmes.
He received the award from Adrian Cain in a surprise presentation in Peel.
Speaking on Moghrey Jedoonnee this morning (Sun 18), Dollin said he thought the use of some extra Manx words would help normalise the use of the language.
