Biodegradable alternative to be introduced
A coffee chain with several Island outlets is the latest to announce it's banishing plastic straws.
Costa Coffee says the move is part of an ongoing commitment to reduce waste, and is planning to bring in a biodegradable alternative.
There are also plans to review its use of plastic and paper cups.
Manx coastline cleaning charity Beach Buddies has welcomed the decision.
It comes days after local restaurant group Rock Food Concepts announced its outlets would stop using plastic straws, and called on other businesses to do the same.
Costa has branches in Douglas, Ramsey, Castletown and at the airport.
