Tenant wants commissioners to replace it
The tenant of the Cosy Nook Cafe in Port Erin claims the roof of the building is "unsafe" and wants the Commissioners to replace it.
Phillip Maltby says he will re-open the popular eating spot once he is sure his staff are out of harms way, after a structural engineer declared the Cosy Nook's roof as "high risk"
Port Erin Commissioners, who own the building, found out Mr Malby had no intention of opening for the summer season when a notice of closure and fencing was erected around the site.
They released a statement yesterday (Tues) saying they were in discussions with Mr Maltby with the hope of opening soon.
Mr Maltby says he met with them last week in an attempt to resolve the problem, but no firm plans were decided
He says - so far - the commissioners have said they will pay for the necessary works only when his lease ends, in two and a half years' time:
