Church seeking new location for reliable instrument
Could you rehome a redundant organ?
St Paul’s Church in Foxdale, which is currently closed, is trying to find a new home for the musical instrument.
Built by HW Hewitt of Leicester in 1893 it’s said to be ‘remarkably reliable with stable tuning’.
The organ was thoroughly overhauled in 1979 by local organ builder Peter Jones who has looked after it ever since.
If you’re interested in giving the organ a new home you can email peterjonespipeorgans@googlemail.com.
