Issues highlighted by the local authority on social media
Douglas Council says it's trying to keep staff safe by asking residents not to put sharp items in their recycling.
Knives have been found in kerbside boxes which the local authority says is putting employees in danger.
The council says they should be taken to the civic amenity site and disposed of in the metal bin instead.
Chair of the Environmental Services Committee Falk Horning say it's not a regular occurrence and believes people are trying to do the right thing by recycling their rubbish.
