23-year-old charged with offence
The leader of Douglas Town Council has described criminal damage, caused to Pulrose Golf Course, as a crime against the community.
David Christian says they will always seek to recover damages in such cases, to avoid penalising ratepayers.
A 23 year old man was ordered to pay costs and compensation as well as having points put onto his licence, after he was caught riding a motorcycle on the course and on nearby football pitches in March.
Councillor Christian said such incidents had a corrosive effect on the quality of life, spoilt people's enjoyment and was demoralising for the council workforce.
