Devon Watson questions why government funds are available to private developers but not local authorities
The leader of Douglas City Council has hit out at the lack of support available to local authorities wanting to build on brownfield sites.
Devon Watson says private companies can access a government scheme to help them bring previously occupied sites back into use.
He believes if similar support was offered to local government, there'd be no shortage of social housing on the Island.
