Help for those in real financial difficulties
Douglas Council has says it's clamping down hard on homeowners who won't pay their rates, after a number of properties were seized by the courts.
The local authority currently charges 408 pence in the pound for town residents, and says 99% of them pay up on time.
But a number of rate dodgers - both commercial and residential - have been handed orders in recent weeks, leading to the Council claiming back more than £32,000 in unpaid bills.
Council leader David Christian says help is at hand for those who can't afford it:
