Operating loss not on Douglas rate payers
Douglas Borough Council leader David Christian says recent figures showing an overall operating loss for running the horse trams show the Council was right to stop running the service.
The Isle of Man Government had to purchase infrastructure, such as rolling stock, to take on the operation and has recently purchased the stables for £600,000.
Mr Christian says when you take away the upfront costs from the figures for last summer, the horse trams are still running at a loss:-
