John Joughin has been forced to relinquish his position
A Douglas councillor and former deputy mayor has been forced to relinquish his position.
It’s after it emerged John Joughin, a councillor since April 2012, was no longer on the voters list.
Changes earlier this year meant people had to register to be on the list rather than their name be automatically retained.
It meant there were around 2,000 fewer voters registered in time for May’s House of Keys by-elections.
South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey says forcing Mr Joughin to stand down is farcical:

New TT schedule prioritises Senior Race
Sidecars excluded from Southern 100
No reports of spiked drinks so far this TT say police
TT Fan Park to reopen
No TT racing to take place today
