Ashford calls for change as row rumbles on
A Douglas councillor says it’s time the Isle of Man had a rolling electoral list people could join at any time.
David Ashford was speaking out after hearing Rebecca Sinfield – the commissioner who first resigned because she wasn’t on the roll – can’t stand in the by-election she sparked in Port St Mary because she’s still not on it.
Mr Ashford says he can barely believe she’s been put in that situation despite returning her form in August.
And he says it’s time for a rethink of the rules:
