Twelve family 'pods' to be built
It would appear Glen Helen is to undergo a considerable transformation in the coming weeks, with the installation of new 'glamping' facilities.
Plans were submitted in December (15) to transform the site of the former Glen Helen Inn, around 9 and a half miles around the TT course, into a new tourist hotspot.
Glen Helen Glamping Ltd proposed to demolish the hotel and build a single storey welcome centre in its place - plus a cafe, and twelve 'family glamping pods', in association with James Fennel Microlodges.
Glen Helen remains a focal point during TT, with a commentary point there, but the hotel has been out of action since 2014.
