Figures revealed by treasury minister on Budget day
Navigating the Covid-19 pandemic has cost the Isle of Man Government over £200 million.
That figure was revealed in Tynwald by the treasury minister who has today outlined the Budget for the year ahead.
Describing the last year as one of ‘focus’ Alfred Cannan said the government had worked through the pandemic to protect jobs, public health and the NHS.
However he revealed that as a result a £12 million surplus, which had been forecast, was now showing as a £74 million deficit:
