New facility at former Shoprite on Chester Street
A Covid-19 vaccination hub at the former Shoprite site on Chester Street in Douglas will open today.
The new hub replaces the vaccination centre on Ward 20 at Nobles hospital, which closed its doors last week after more than 8,500 injections had been given.
In anticipation of people heading to Douglas for the jab, the Department of Infrastructure says parking arrangements in Market Street have been altered.
There's 19 dedicated disabled spaces for the use of blue badge holders attending the hub, along with a drop off point for cars, buses and taxis.
Meanwhile, there's free two hour disk parking on levels 2 to 6 of Chester Street car park.
For those using public transport, Bus Vannin has produced a guide to services which serve the hub.
Anyone who had their first dose at ward 20 is reminded that their second jab will be administered at the new Chester Street facility.
