Earlier this year due to new variant
The latest Covid-19 booster becomes available in the Island from today.
The autumn vaccine programme has been brought forward following the identification of Covid-19 variant BA.2.86 which was first discovered in London a fortnight ago.
The booster's designed to offer greater protection to those who are at higher risk of serious disease.
Manx Care says where possible it will be administered alongside seasonal flu jabs.
This will apply to anyone over the age of 65, residents in a care home, frontline health and social workers, any individual over the age of 5 who is in a clinical risk group or those living with someone who has a suppressed immune system.
Also included are carers aged sixteen or older as defined by the Immunisation green book.
Meanwhile adults over eighteen years of age will also be offered the seasonal flu jab at their appointment.
Manx Care say they'll contact anyone if their health records suggest they may be eligible.
Appointments will be sent out to those who are eligible so people are asked not to call 111 to book appointments.
