Howard Quayle welcomes news, but warns against complacency
News that trials of a Covid-19 vaccine have proved successful offers "a glimmer of hope", but the public must not become complacent.
That's the message from Chief Minister Howard Quayle following the announcement by Pfizer and BioNTech that their vaccination has shown it can prevent 90% of people from getting the virus.
Mr Quayle says planning is already underway to ensure the Isle of Man will be able to deliver a mass vaccination programme once the vaccine has completed the approval process.
However, he also urges Manx residents not to let their guard down, and continue good hand hygiene and self-isolation when showing signs of coronavirus.
