Alarm-raiser praised for vigilance
Lifeboat crews in the south were left relieved last night, after fears someone had walked into the sea.
RNLI Port St Mary received a distress call at around twenty past seven, from a member of the public who had seen a man wandering near The Point.
Two lifeboats, the Coastguard and paramedics were deployed.
But upon arrival, volunteers found the man in question had just gone out fishing for crabs and periwinkles.
The person who raised the alarm, although embarrassed, was commended for doing the right thing.
The message... 'It's better to be safe than sorry'.
