MLC will ask CoMin to create role

A member of the Legislative Council will press the Chief Minister once again to consider creating a dedicated role in Parliament to champion the interests of older and lonely people.
At the next sitting of Tynwald (Tue 20) David Cretney MLC will move that the Council of Ministers establishes a role to represent this sector of society.
It's not the first time he's tried, with a similar request being turned down last year.
Mr Cretney says there are already champions in Parliament for other groups, and with the older demographic on the Island, having such a position would be worthwhile:
