Ronaldsway building's roof space found to be source
A fire in the roof space of a unit on the Ronaldsway industrial estate was tackled by crews from Castletown and Douglas fire stations last night.
They were called out to reports of smoke issuing from the unit's roof at around 9.45pm.
Upon arrival, it was confirmed staff had evacuated the building after the fire alarms went off and there was smoke inside.
Once it was located and extinguished, investigations concluded an electrical fault had been the cause.
Crews remained in attendance for 90 minutes to check for hot spots and help ventilate the building.
