Traditional event after Tynwald ceremony
One of the highlights of our Manx National day gets underway this afternoon (Fri 5th).
The Cronk y Voddy Sports day starts at 2pm, with the marquee just off the Cronk y Voddy Straight opening at 12.30 for hot and cold food and, it's claimed, the best homemade cakes in the west.
There are a wide range of events for children of all ages from cycle racing and sack races to a tug-of-war.
The evergreen open class dog racing is also taking place through the afternoon, or until the dogs have lost interest, whichever is sooner.
All are welcome to attend the traditional event, organised by the Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Association, with proceeds going to Crossroads Care.
