Crossroads confirm delivery van involved in RTC

Charity 'aware of photos circulating on social media'

A delivery van belonging to a Manx charity was involved in a road traffic collision earlier today (Thursday 26 September).

Crossroads has confirmed everyone involved is 'doing okay' and there are no serious injuries reported.

The incident took place in Onchan this morning.

In a statement, the charity says its van has sustained 'significant damage' so they will be unable to complete any furniture deliveries or collections - or Crossroads Manx Workshop deliveries - for 'a period of time'.

The charity is hoping to put alternative plans in place but is warning that 'this may take some time'.

Crossroads has thanked the emergency services for assisting the drivers involved and also everyone affected by the road closure for their patience and understanding.

They add that they are 'aware of photos circulating on social media' of the van and they are asking for people not to speculate on the details of the incident.

The delivery van was purchased in 2022 thanks to funding from the Elizabeth Clucas Charitable Trust and Manx Telecom’s ‘It’s Our Community’ fund.
