22-year-old man pleads not guilty
A court's heard how a man's alleged to have injured two women in a crowd-surfing stunt from the balcony of a Douglas club.
22-year-old Lewis Timothy Corfield of Glebe Aalin Close in Ballaugh appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He pleaded not guilty to one count of disorderly behaviour on licensed premises, and two of assaulting occasioning actual bodily harm.
Prosecution advocate Barry Swain told the hearing the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, 28 October.
Mr Swain said Mr Corfield had been out drinking upstairs in the Outback on Barrack Street in Douglas.
At around 2:30am, he's alleged to have climbed over railings on the upstairs balcony and jumped into the crowd – Mr Swain likened it to a scene from the movie Quadrophenia.
He claimed Mr Corfield landed on three people, leaving one woman with an inch-long cut to her head and another with spinal, neck and knee injuries.
Magistrates granted Mr Corfield bail and he'll appear again for a pre-trial review on 3 October.
