Norwegian registered 'Maud' visited Isle of Man last week
A cruise liner that visited the Isle of Man last week was the subject of a UK Marine Accident Investigation report after a near miss with a roll on-roll off ferry off the east coast of England in 2021.
The Norwegian registered vessel 'Maud' came within 130 metres of the ferry 'Gardenia Seaways' north of Harwich.
The report synopsis said neither master was on the bridge at the time and actions from the watchkeepers, on both vessels, contributed to a dangerous situation developing in an area well known for traffic conflicts.
The report says the owners of both ships have taken internal measures to capture the lessons learned and improve standards of watchkeeping throughout their fleets.
