Call for new clinician-led board
The culture at Nobles Hospital is “very poor” and in need of urgent change, according to the chair of its Medical Staff Committee, Andre Risha.
He says the hospital requires a new board led by clinicians working for Manx Care, and one that is united by a renewed local focus.
Mr Risha, who is a candidate in the constituency of Middle in the forthcoming general election, claims that many board-level decisions have been incorrect because doctors are not involved in the decision-making process.
He also argues that the changes proposed by the Medical Staff Committee would deliver financial benefits as well as improve governance:
