MU now solely responsible for costs levied at charging points
Manx Utilities says it will now be solely responsible for the control of charges being levied on the public charging network.
It follows complaints that the new system provider – Evolt – had implemented a £35 pre-authorisation payment for customers using electric vehicle charging points.
The company was selected by MU to offer the service after a competitive tender process.
However in the House of Keys this week some politicians queried why the pre-authorisation charge hadn’t been identified until the system had been changed.
MU says it has immediately taken action to remove the charge and all customers will be refunded.
