
Redeveloping Villiers Square on Loch Promenade in Douglas would transform a highly visible 'grot spot' and is long overdue.
That's the view of the Douglas Development Partnership, which is behind a series of make-over projects around the capital.
The partnership's been unable to improve the Villiers site as the land is privately owned.
But now owners AXA have lodged an updated planning application for a shops and residential scheme and if approved work could start this spring.
The public square would be upgraded as part of the project.
