Capital's postal services remain in Regent Street
Isle of Man Post Office says postal services in Douglas are to stay in the Regent Street building - for now.
A contract has been signed with Mannin Retail, allowing the retailer to take over services in the current post office building in early September.
Mannin Retail operates the Spar brand on the Island and already manages post office branches in five of its stores.
Plans to move postal services from the Crown office in the town centre to a Spar shop were announced by Isle of Man Post Office in November.
Managing Director of Mannin Retail Peter Whittaker says there'll be no fundamental changes to the site but he hopes to improve the customer experience, with extended opening hours.
The Post Office says it's allowing continued use of the Regent St building while it considers options for redevelopment of the property.
