Focus on the individual, says psychologist
Provision for children with special educational needs focuses on the individual in the Island's schools.
That from Dr Jonny Fee who is senior educational psychologist at the Department of Education and Children.
He's been responding to comments from the secretary of the Down's Syndrome Association Isle of Man, Fran Tinkler, who's also the mother of a girl with the condition.
Earlier this week, she described their experience of the Isle of Man education system as a 'rocky road' and 'patchy' - sometimes 'great', sometimes 'very disappointing'.
