Home Affairs minister says options for the Island are being assessed
Progress has been made on laws against 'deepfake' photos but the home affairs minister admits she can't promise legislation will be in place before the next election.
Deepfakes are synthetic media that have been digitally manipulated to convincingly replace one person's likeness with that of another.
The issue was highlighted in the media recently after explicit AI images of the singer Taylor Swift went viral online.
Jane Poole-Wilson says a new law being enacted next month will cover this but admits the situation needs to be closely monitored:
