Twenty one sites owned by government have been earmarked as locations which could be developed as tourist accommodation.
The figures, which date back from 2011, have been revealed via a freedom of information request.
The Department of Environment Food and Agriculture owns the sites, three of which have been explored as options for glamping builds in the last year.
It's keen to stress planning consultations were not made on each these sites.
