Bill now going to Tynwald after summer recess
A teachers union says its 'detailed response' to the draft Education Bill led to the department's decision to delay it.
Education chiefs announced at a Tynwald committee last week that more time was needed to assess the draft proposal, following feedback from the public consultation.
The bill, which has been subject to input from a number of parties including headteachers and unions over a two year period, will now go to Tynwald after the summer recess.
