The Island’s full-time bus drivers have found themselves out of work this morning after they were told they’d have to reapply for their jobs.
Letters have been arriving today informing them they’ve been given their notice after failing to reach an agreement about terms and conditions.
It’s the latest move in a dispute which has been running between unions and the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure.
Drivers have been bitterly criticising the letters on social media.
Nick Black of the DCCL says he's hopeful drivers will agree, but contingencies are in place to maintain services:
Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital closure 'inconvenient' but 'significant issues' need to be fixed
Four local authorities looking for by-election candidates
Reinstatement of home births 'remains at top of agenda' for Manx Care
Weekend sailings at risk
Plans submitted for 85 new homes on former Buchan School site
